Presents from the Philipins

I just want to share with you the nice presents I get from my new pen-pal Andrea from the Philipins

I get some traditional stationary with Filipino theme decoration, a hand-carved bamboo kubing (kooh-beeng), which is a traditional instrument used for courtship by ancient Filipinos. This is pretty similar to the metallic guimbarde we are used to in France (until then I didn't know that it did exist in France! :), some beautifully illustrated children books with vibrant colors in watercolors from filipino illustrator Beth-Parrocha Doctolero.
A colorful wallet made of  natural fiber (is it rafia?), some vintage automobile stamps from the Philippine tuberculosis society, and a nice keyring made by disabled persons. And some newspapers in Filipino, which seems to me a peculiar and interesting language mixing up Spanish with English with some unknown words coming from Tagalog.

I have been really spoiled, thanks again.
